Abstract

The study aimed to identify information security threats and their impact on administrative performance systems by applying them to the Sudanese police force, North Kordofan State Police - Al-Obeid City.The problem of the study was represented in the following main question: What are the threats to information security and their impact on information systems in the Sudanese police force, North Kordofan State Police - Al-Obeid City? The descriptive approach was used, through the intentional sample, and a questionnaire was designed to collect data. The study model and its hypotheses were built based on the study literature. A number of (150) questionnaires were distributed, where the percentage of valid data for analysis was (81.33%). Also, the structural equation modeling (SEM) was relied on, in winch the Amos program was used. The study concluded that there is a relationship between information security threats in its dimensions (viruses, firewalls, technical obstacles, hackers) and administrative performance systems after (speed of information acquisition, information protection). The most important recommendations of the study: the need for the police to use biological means (fingerprint, handprint, eye print, voice and face print) to determine the powers of each individual dealing with the information system, and work to update passwords that are used to prevent unauthorized persons from entering the system. Firewalls and encryption must also be used to prevent hacking attempts.
