Abstract

The study aimed to explore the impact of artificial intelligence application in education on students' academic achievement and satisfaction with the educational process, as well as teachers' satisfaction and self-efficacy in teaching. A quasi-experimental methodology was employed to analyze differences between groups; artificial intelligence tools were integrated into the educational process for the experimental group, while the control group relied on traditional teaching methods. The study sample consisted of 600 students (tenth grade) and 16 teachers from the South Al Batinah Governorate in the Sultanate of Oman, divided into 300 students and 8 teachers in each group.

The study utilized a scale to measure levels of satisfaction and self-confidence, in addition to collecting student achievement performance data through a mathematics unit test.

Results revealed statistically significant differences between the two groups in academic achievement, satisfaction with the educational process, as well as teacher satisfaction and self-efficacy in teaching. The experimental group recorded significantly higher levels of student engagement with the subject matter (effect size = 0.75) compared to the control group, and improved academic achievement by 15% over the control group (effect size = 0.80). The results also indicated that satisfaction levels with the educational experience were 25% higher among experimental group students (effect size = 0.80), and 20% higher among teachers (effect size = 0.60). Additionally, findings showed that teachers who utilized artificial intelligence reported higher levels of self-efficacy compared to their peers in the control group (effect size = 0.65).

These findings suggest that adopting artificial intelligence technologies in education can positively contribute to enhancing student engagement with the subject matter and improving their outcomes, as well as increasing teacher satisfaction and strengthening their self-efficacy. Nevertheless, the researchers recommend adopting strategies that ensure user data privacy and support infrastructure to achieve optimal benefits from these technologies.
